Australia is an island which is located west of New Zealand. Australia is in the north by the Timor Sea, the Arafura Sea, the Gulf of Carpentaria and Torres Strait bounded in the east by the Coral Sea and the Tasman Sea and south by the Bass Strait and the Great Australian Bight. The Indian Ocean is located south and west of Australia.

Australia is a country where you can see many different things and do. For example you can dive along the east coast in the Great Barrier Reef, in the interior you camel / horse riding in the desert (Outback) and in the west you can pick grapes in the vineyards. And we have not even talked about the cities of Melbourne and Sydney. Take time to explore the country and you'll discover new things.

The coastline of Australia is almost 18,000 km. Almost 90% of the population lives in one of the towns along the coast. The outback is the heart of Australia and there is extremely dry. The towns often consist only of a few houses and facilities are far apart.

Visa

Long distances in Australia usually traveled by plane. Therefore you will find in Australia a large network of local and regional air services. You can even come by plane at the most remote locations. Air travel is generally more expensive than the train or bus.

Throughout Australia you can rent cars. The large, well-known rental companies have offices throughout the country. They are mainly located in airports, large cities and at stations. You must be at least 21 years old and obviously have a driver's license to rent a car.


Lifts is discouraged.
The traffic areas are all that off if you compare them with the rules in the Netherlands. As they drive on the left side of the road and right always prevail unless stated otherwise.

There are plenty of gas stations along the routes. But in the outback you do have to be prepared that it may take long before you will meet one again. Holds so rekeing with this.

A well-known symbols of Australia is the yellow and black road sign with a kangaroo on it. These signs are there for a reason because kangaroos often tend not to look at whether the way skip.

Flora & Fauna
In the Australian landscape dry plains interspersed with rich green areas. There are many rare flowers, plants and trees that you will not find anywhere else in the world.
