Queensland is the Australian east coast. Within Australia, the state with its Gold Coast is a popular holiday destination. Of the 3 million Queenslanders live mostly in the narrow coastal strip east of the Great Dividing Range. Paradise Islands
The Whitsunday Islands are named after explorer James Cook sailed along the archipelago at Pentecost (Whitsunday) in 1770. Only eight of the 74 islands are inhabited. The islands have beautiful white beaches and are partly protected area. From Airlie Beach, you can make a great sail around the islands.
Magnetic Island
Because the compass of James Cook around the island showed abnormalities during his voyage of discovery in 1770; Cook thought there ore in the soil was found and named the island 'Magnetic Island. Later it turned out to be the bottom of pure granite. In addition to the massifs in the interior, the island offers beautiful bays with white tropical beaches. This makes it an attractive holiday destination.
Heart Reef

Great Dividing Range

The famous Three Sister Mountains of New South Wales are also part of the Great Dividing Range.
