It is worth to worship the Tainan city with a visit if you are interested in Taiwanese history and religion and traditional lifestyles of Taiwan want to know better. Because Tainan is famous for the precious cultural heritage of the city. In every street are able to find clues that point to the pre-industrial past of the city. Tainan is located in the southwest of the island and now has just over one million inhabitants. The city shows mainly light industry, based on agriculture, fishing and tourism and holds heavy industry and the consequent pollution as much as possible at a distance. The aim is to keep a clean and cultural city and as it were, to a display case for visitors.
Transport
Tainan has its own airport, Tainan Airport, but only there daily flights to and from Magong and Kinmen offered. And like the other major cities in Taiwan Tainan is also well connected by the railway lines TRA (regular trains) and HSR (high speed train).
History
Tainan was from 1683 to 1885, the capital of Taiwan and therefore plays a major role in Taiwanese history. Tainan has an important historical relationship with the Netherlands, because in the history of the city to play the Dutch United East India Company (in a rather negative way) a remarkable role.
