The bustling city of Alicante is for many tourists flying start point for a holiday in the Spanish region of Costa Blanca. Alicante Airport has certainly handle many tourists in the summer months. Due to the high altitude of about 166 meters, this fort was once ideal for discovering unexpected visitors in time and take action. Although there findings have been made which suggest that the principles of Castillo de Santa Bárbara are from the ninth century, however, the majority comes from the sixteenth century. The castle is only opened in the year 1963 to the public, which are also located two elevators. The entrance to these lifts is located in the mountain that you reach through the pedestrian tunnel on Calle Jovellanos. The castle is of course just to reach on foot.

Strolling do in Alicante on the Esplanada de Espana. The beautiful paved promenade attracts both day and evening many visitors who can walk there from the Port to Canalejas Park. This important square of Alicante has a very stately appearance. The beautiful baroque town hall helps nice part of this. It was built in the eighteenth century by architect Lorenzo Chápuli. The buildings on the Plaza del Ayuntamiento be properly maintained so that the valuable features are well preserved from the previous centuries. At the entrance of the Town Hall is to find a point of interest. For this is a point marked as "Cota Cero" where one of various Spanish cities measure the height above sea level. A visit is rewarded inside with interesting archaeological findings are exhibited.

On old remains of a mosque that was placed during the Islamic domination this fairly austere basilica was built the Santa Maria. The style can be described as gothic, which was typical of the late medieval period between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries. The basilica of Santa Maria dates back to somewhere between the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Inside you can admire many richly decorated works of art, including a golden altar of the eighteenth century. The many works of art in this basilica are invaluable and well worth a visit.

Partly thanks to this beautiful sandy beach, the city of Alicante is a popular summer destination for sun seekers. The beach is about 900 meters long and is situated in a beautiful location, which is at the foot of the mountain 'Monte Benacantil' showing the castle "Castillo de Santa Bárbara. Besides relaxing on the sea beach lends itself well to activities like beach volleyball. The provision mention are fine. You can rent sunbeds and umbrellas and during your stay lifeguard keeps everything neatly into the holes. The only drawback is that it can sometimes be quite busy.

At the Plaza de Santa Maria in the heart of the city is to visit the museum for contemporary art. Resounding museum bears the name "Museo de Arte Contemporaneo de Alicante. The museum was founded in 1976 by the Spanish artist Eusebio Sempere who was known for his abstract works and playfulness with light. Some of his works are to behold in this MACA museum. The recently renovated museum houses located in the Casa de la Asegurada, a building dating from the seventeenth century. The originally baroque building was built in 1685. Today it stands as oldest civil building in the city of Alicante.

The shopping center Panoramis is at the end of the promenade Esplanada de Espana next to the sea and next to the port of Alicante. Besides the large shops, there are a number of entertainment companies located and nice restaurants and bars. For the smallest there is even visit an adventure 'Aventura Park Alicante where they can enjoy themselves.

This part of town is located between the streets Calle Jorge Juan and Calle Juan Bautista Lafora which are located near the beach. The square Ramiro Paseíto which is also known as Paseo Ramiro of Mirror Ramiro had formerly much respect when it was dressed up as a romantic garden. Later buildings were placed there.
