Because Japan was worried that the Americans would use in World War II as millitary base Darwin, Darwin was frequently bombed. Later, the city was again destroyed by hurricane Tracy. On the use of aircraft in those days (and throughout the aviation history of Australia) is the Aviation Heritage Centre. Masterpiece is the huge B52 bomber formerly practiced in northern Australia.
