The Canary Islands (English: Canary Islands, Spanish: Islas Canarias) are an archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean (Africa). The Canary Islands are one of the 17 autonomous regions of Spain. The Canary Islands consist of 13 islands. The seven largest islands are: El Hierro (Ferro), Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, La Gomera, La Palma, Lanzarote and Tenerife. The Canary Islands have two capitals: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
