New York, the city that never sleeps, is the perfect city for a city trip. Bored in this town is almost impossible. Whether you're going for three days or two weeks, there is always plenty to do! Empire State Building
Of course, a good view from above not missing a trip to New York. You can go to the top of the Empire State Building (highest) or the Rockefeller Center (possibly in combination with a tour of the NBC studios). From the Rockefeller have beautiful views of Central Park, but from the Empire the most extensive views over downtown Manhattan. The lines can be long, shorter waiting times are the morning very early, or even late at night (up to 2 o'clock in the morning!). In the dark with all the lights, the views are great.
Shopping in New York
America is about to consume. Buying is the motto! And New York, this is the perfect place. Along 5th Avenue almost all well-known brands have their flagship store. Times Square you will find huge stores of Disney and Toys R Us. You go for the bargain, you have to be 21 at the Century, opposite the old WTC. But also for people who are looking for something unique, or the latest trends, New York is perfect. In neighborhoods like Geenwich Village and the Meatpacking District you will find the hippest boutiques.
Central Park
A huge park in the middle of one of the largest cities of the world. A perfect place to relax after the hustle and bustle of the city. Many places you will recognize from Romantic Comedies.
Staten Island Ferry
A lot cheaper way (free!) For stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and New York Skyline is by taking the ferry to Staten Island (15 minutes). The ferry sails 24 hours a day and is completely free!
Broadway (Times Square)
New York is obviously the place to be for musicals. Even the biggest musical hater will entertain themselves on Broadway. There is always plenty of choice. Of course you visit the same as advertising spectacle of Times Square and all the great shops that fit in.
High lane
Above the busy streets and between the tall buildings by walking on the High Lane, an old railway line that is no longer used since 1930. The High Lane is currently a park since 2009 to visit. The road is about 2 miles long and located in the Meatpacking District.
Brooklyn Bridge
The famous historic bridge in New York, the Brooklyn Bridge, built in 1883, has a footpath where you can walk quietly over. You have wonderful views of the New York skyline. Visit also as the borough of Brooklyn (also named "Breuckelen"). Here you will find clear the Dutch roots of the city, the motto of Brooklyn, for example: "Eendraght Maeckt maght"
New York Museum
New York has the best museums in the world. The best known are the Metropolitan Museum, Guggenheim Museum and MOMA for art, and American Museum of Natural History for world history.
New York knicks
Sports in America are one and all entertainment. Long before the match the audience will be entertained with performances by singers, DJs and of course the Cheerleaders. In New York, there is plenty to choose from. There are two basketball clubs represented in the NBA (Knicks and the Nets), two baseball teams in the MLB (Yankees and the Mets) and two American football teams (Giants and Jets). If you do not have time to order tickets through the official way (Ticketmaster) you right up front and score cards via Stubhub.com (this money indeed for concerts, musicals etc).
Comedy Club
New York is full with Comedy Clubs and the largest stand-up comedians do their thing in these clubs (especially celebrities you encounter in the Comedy Cellar and Gotham Comedy Club). Times Square, you will be asked many times if you want to go to a club. Better you just on Yelp to see what is the best club, and who where occurs. Note that in addition to the entrance fee often is a minimum of two drinks (and drink is not cheap in New York!). A cheap and good club where this does not apply, the Upright Citizens Brigade (reviews, for $ 5 you have a perfect night out here!
