This prayer house was opened in 1958 and is named after the 28th Sultan of the country. The building with golden domes, stained glass and an escalator is an excellent example of modern Islamic architecture. The interior of the mosque is not as sparkling, but tasteful. Especially the Venetian mosaic, consisting of over 3.5 million pieces, is very special. the whole complex evening fairy lit: the golden domes and the green light that reflects in the water around the mosque, then ensure a magical appearance. This majestic building is therefore to a great distance clearly visible. Do not forget the top of the 44 meter high minaret to climb, because that gives you a beautiful view of Bandar Seri Bagawan.

Ulu Temburong National Park
Thanks to the huge revenues that the country has oil and gas, nature in Brunei is hardly affected. Large tracts of pristine jungle green with a huge diversity of flora and fauna thus still here. The boat is the best way to explore this national park and the trip from the capital to the park has been a great experience in itself. And if you sail through the dense mangrove forests, it is best for the best view on the roof of the boat to sit down. Highly recommended is in the park to participate in a night safari, where you sail a boat through the jungle and the darkness lit only by a few torches that you have with you. Most animals will only become out of hiding in the dark. There are also opportunities in the park for several other activities such as rafting or hiking through waterfalls where you can take a refreshing dip.
Pole Houses in Kampong Ayer
In stark contrast to the glamorous center of capital Bandar Seri Begawan are 28 villages of Kampong Ayer. Here namely the Brunei River population of about 30,000 people in stilt houses ('Kampong' means village 'ayer' water). The cottages are seen from the outside initially Banh, but most precisely fitted inside with all comforts.
